Akari Floor Lamps

Got my purchase delivered today I was able to get my lampshade out of the closet and bring it back to life the replacement pieces I ordered are perfect I would love to share pictures of my lamp in action

She spent ten minutes sniffing it before we even switched it on, which I am taking as a good sign. It sits on the floor by the bed and gives just enough light not to wake anyone. The paper has a texture you can feel, it is not printed on.

Mine hangs from a standard ceiling rose in a flat with a low soffit. Because the shade is narrow it never feels in the way, even at head height over a chair. The paper is dense enough that you cannot see the bulb through it from below.

Bought it to go beside a lounge chair and a wall map, and it does the one thing I wanted: light at book height with no glare behind the page. Three stacked shades break the glow into bands instead of one bright ball.

First photo with the light on, second in daylight so you can actually see the shape. 60 cm over a round marble table for six — big enough to be useful, not so big it feels like a bowl hanging over the food. The seam on top is invisible from below.

This is the 19.7 in from about a metre away. The seams are what you are paying for and they are even the whole way round — no overlap, no glue line. Against venetian blinds the cone reads clearly: no shade ring, no visible screw.

Most paper shades look like a bag when they are switched off. This one holds its shape. It sits between a chair and a window in a rented flat — no drilling allowed, so a plug-in lamp was the only option and the cord is the right length for it.

I ordered Stand and I am glad — no ceiling hook, no electrician, just a plug. It stands in front of a full-height window and at night the paper glows against the glass. 46.5 in is taller than I pictured, and the room needed exactly that.

There is a dead corner under our stairs where nothing fits except a vase and a branch. The lamp went there. 23 in tall is short enough to sit under the slope, and the light washes the staircase wall. Cord is on the short side for this spot.

This is the 120D over a 10 ft table in an office we just finished. At 47 in across it is the only thing in the room that is not a right angle. I sent three photos because one does not explain how much light a sphere this size throws — from the door, across the table, and up close.

We had no floor space left, so it hangs in the corner above the plants. It lights the leaves from above, which sounds like nothing until you see it at night. Went with the 13.8 in version, small enough that it does not fight the window.

Went with the Stand version at 46 in and put it next to a low sofa. It lights the plant and the wall behind it and almost nothing else, which is exactly what I wanted for a room we only use after nine. The base is heavier than it looks.

Bought it for a corner that loses daylight after four. It throws a soft circle on the wall and the plant next to it now looks lit rather than decorated. Shade arrived without a single dent, which after that shipping distance I did not expect.

Daylight, lamp off — this is what it looks like most of the day in a room with a north window. It holds its shape instead of sagging the way thinner shades do. It sits on the floor beside a shelf that was already too full to take anything else.

20 in wide, hung in the recess over the passage between the kitchen and the living room. Because it is an ellipse and not a ball, the light spreads sideways instead of pooling — the whole passage is lit and nobody walks into it. Best at dusk: warm inside, still blue outside.
