Mine hangs from a standard ceiling rose in a flat with a low soffit. Because the shade is narrow it never feels in the way, even at head height over a chair. The paper is dense enough that you cannot see the bulb through it from below.
I ordered Stand and I am glad — no ceiling hook, no electrician, just a plug. It stands in front of a full-height window and at night the paper glows against the glass. 46.5 in is taller than I pictured, and the room needed exactly that.
Went with the Stand version at 46 in and put it next to a low sofa. It lights the plant and the wall behind it and almost nothing else, which is exactly what I wanted for a room we only use after nine. The base is heavier than it looks.
This photo is daylight with the lamp off — that is how it looks most of the day, and it still reads as an object rather than a light fitting. We hung it over the walkway between kitchen and living room so it is never in anyone's face.
On paper it is an odd shape — stacked rings, almost a tornado — but on a plain plaster wall it just looks calm. Mine hangs in a corner where nothing else fits. Two months in and there is still no hot spot anywhere on the shade.
Took the Hang version and put it at the foot of the bed. It sits at about 32 in from the floor, below eye level, so you see the paper and not the bulb. Cord reached our 9 ft ceiling with room to spare.
The Akari ceiling lamp is beautiful, a lovely statement piece. I was very happy with the quality of the product and the customer service I received. I did end up switching out the light bulbs to a warmer, more yellow light, but that may be a personal preference. Do note that the lights do not come with a plug, we ended up getting the two wire chord with plug and extending our chord with electrical tape in the USA. Overall very happy with it!!
It's a lamp. It works great and was easy to setup. Done.
It arrived in 8 days, which was right in the middle of the estimate. The box had a small dent, but the lamp was perfectly protected inside and completely fine.
Was a bit skeptical buying a light online, but the reviews were right. It feels high-quality and looks even better in person.
Came in 8 days. Box was dented but the lamp inside was perfect.
Easy to put together and looks nice. Light is soft.
Pretty lamp, makes the room cozy. Was easy to setup.
Nice lamp for the price. Good quality and works well.
(Museum staff) Ideal light for exhibits. Easy, safe install, no glare.
It has a mid-century modern vibe that I was looking for, but feels updated. The build quality is solid, not like the fragile antiques I usually deal with.
Works good, looks nice. I like it.
Even the packaging was impressive. No rough edges, feels quality.
My video calls look amazing now with this soft, flattering light.
Fast shipping, good packaging. Lamp is cute and works well.
